About the association

The Icelandic Backgammon Association manages organised backgammon activity in Iceland — tournaments, education and the community of players. Backgammon (kotra) has been played in Iceland for centuries and is part of our cultural heritage.

The association is a member nation of WBIF — the World Backgammon Internet Federation — and works to grow the game, connect players and secure Icelandic participation in international events.

Our goals

The Board

The board is elected at the annual meeting for a two-year term.

Chair Leads meetings, spokesperson, responsible for strategy.

Vice-chair Deputy to the chair and special projects.

Secretary Minutes, communications and membership register.

Treasurer Finances, accounting and budgeting.

Board member Tournaments, promotion and other special projects.
